Why I Founded Churchill Support Services

Churchill Support Services was the first business I set up, only back then it was called Knight Security. At the time, I was working on other projects and struggled to find a good security company.  The guards didn’t take pride in their appearance and were either turning up late, leaving early or sleeping on the job…. I thought “I can do a better job by employing better people, training and developing them properly and paying a better wage by charging more”. So that’s what I did.

I changed the name to Churchill in the year 2000 after buying out my original business partner. We’d met at St Helens technical college studying Business and Finance and decided to start the business. It was quite small at the time, only turning over a few hundred thousand pounds per annum and I wanted to grow the business and turn it into a national brand.

How Churchill Support Services Has Grown

After founding Churchill Support Services back in 1993, the company has experienced enormous growth. Whilst it started out life as a security company, Churchill has since expanded its scope of service to include cleaning solutions, facilities management, and advising compnaines at their carbon neutral journey and their current carbon footprint. To reflect this growth, we recently rebranded from Churchill Security to Churchill Support Services, with the new name better reflecting the diverse range of services the company can now provide.

Whilst the COVID-19 pandemic presented numerous challenges for the company, we were able to tailor our services to the demands of the market, offering deep cleaning solutions and social distancing management to businesses across the UK.

As the company has grown, so too have our people. We now employ security guards up and down the country and have an amazing management team who ensure everything runs smoothly on a day-to-day basis, as well as continuing the company’s growth.
