Early on in my career, I had the opportunity to participate in the Prince’s Trust Enterprise Programme and was fortunate enough to receive a grant that helped launched my entrepreneurial career. Now I want to help give the next generation of entrepreneurs there shot.
What Is an Angel Investor?
Angel investors, also known as seed investors, private investors, business angels, informal investors and angel funders, offer financial backing for small businesses or start-ups.
Angel investors are focused on helping start-ups take their first steps rather than profiting off the business. Essentially, they’re the opposite of venture capitalists, providing more favourable terms than other investment options and investing in the potential of the entrepreneurs rather than the viability of the business.
Given the way my entrepreneurial career started, I want to utilise my abilities and experience to ensure that future entrepreneurs have the same opportunities I did. That’s why I’m always on the lookout for the best up-and-coming talent to champion.
Investing in Potential
No matter what stage of your career you’re in, embarking on a new business venture can be difficult. This is especially true for young entrepreneurs struggling to break into the business world and unable to finance their projects themselves. That’s where investors like myself can step in with a less traditional funding arrangement.
Unlocking the potential in business ideas is something I am passionate about, as is encouraging up-and-coming entrepreneurs to realise their full potential as business people. For me, profit takes a back seat in angel investments. It’s much more important to give the entrepreneurs of tomorrow the footing they need to get started.
